A new grocery store will open in Lynwood, California. The project is funded by the Department of Toxic Substances Control’s (DTSC) Equitable Community Revitalization Grant. Interim City Manager Gabriel A. Gonzalez said the store will provide fresh food, create jobs, and support local businesses.
The Lynwood project is one of more than 90 revitalization efforts in California. These projects receive over $130 million in DTSC grants. The program focuses on cleaning and reusing contaminated properties, known as brownfields, in 49 cities and 22 counties.
