Health Net grant aims to place hundreds of unhoused residents into permanent homes

More than 500 people experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles County are expected to secure housing and supportive services through a renewed $2 million investment from Health Net, part of Centene Corporation. The company awarded a second $1 million grant to LA Family Housing, extending a partnership that focuses on long-term stability for residents in Service Planning Area 2, which includes parts of the San Fernando Valley.

LA Family Housing will use the funding to expand its Housing Location program, which connects participants with rental units and coordinates medical care, behavioral health support, and other assistance. The approach emphasises steady housing placements along with services that help residents keep their homes.

The organisation surpassed its goals during the first year of the partnership by securing 458 units, well above its target of up to 300. It also strengthened relationships with nearly two hundred property owners, many of whom continue to make units available for tenants who need support…
