Police say suspects used stolen IDs, fake checks to rent Los Angeles apartments

Police are searching for a second suspect in a renter fraud investigation involving identity theft and check fraud in Los Angeles, authorities said.

The Los Angeles Police Department issued a community alert Tuesday for rental and property management companies in the Hollywood and Larchmont neighborhoods.

The suspects, identified as “Igor” and “Manuel,” allegedly used stolen personal identification information to rent apartments, according to police.
