Several vehicles were left partially underwater overnight after heavy rain flooded the underground parking garage of an apartment building in the Palms neighborhood of Los Angeles.
Footage obtained by KTLA shows murky brown water filling the basement-level garage along the 3700 block of Kelton Avenue, near Venice Boulevard, with alarms blaring. At least a dozen cars could be seen with water up to their doors, headlights and taillights still reflecting off the flooded surface.
According to the stringer service KNN News, crews with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to reports of flooding at the apartment complex early Friday morning. Firefighters arrived to find the subterranean lot “severely flooded” with several trapped vehicles.
