Yudy learned about LIFE at a local food bank and enrolled to lower her monthly costs. For many families, the program allows them to spend less on transit and more on other needs. The application process requires basic identification and proof of income. Applicants can also self-certify if needed.
Since 2021, more than 475,000 people have joined LIFE. The program has supported 25 million Metro rides and 14 million rides on partner agencies. Outreach teams work with community organizations and attend over 150 events each month, such as resource fairs and school visits.
