L.A. record shop asks public for help staying open: ‘2025 has been one of the most difficult years’

Los Angeles is home to some of the world’s best record shops, but a litany of factors is making them a dying art.

Whether it be the emergence and domination of music streaming platforms, economic uncertainties or overall shifts in the industry, stores that sell physical records, merchandise and other music memorabilia are starting to disappear across the world – and right here in Los Angeles.
