A 25-foot-tall gingerbread house inspired by the McCallister home from the first two “Home Alone” movies will be open for public viewing in Los Angeles on Thursday and Friday.
The two-story structure, located at the corner of Hollywood and Vine, is part of Disney+ and Hulu’s celebration of the 35th anniversary of the beloved holiday classic.
The gingerbread house, which will be open during the evenings of Dec. 18 and 19, was built in an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gingerbread house, a title held since 2013.
Made from 5,700 pounds of all-purpose flour and more than 4,200 eggs, the replica of the McCallister home is constructed from 4,400 gingerbread brick tiles and 800 roof tiles. It measures 58 feet long and 42 feet wide…
