East L.A. ranks among the toughest rental markets in the U.S.

Finding an apartment in Los Angeles County wasn’t easy in 2025, and for renters in East L.A., it was especially difficult.

According to RentCafe’s year-end rental competitiveness report, eastern Los Angeles County ranked as the nation’s 23rd most competitive rental market last year, driven by high demand and limited supply.
