A crash involving two FedEx big rigs scattered packages and shut down all lanes on the northbound 5 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley early Wednesday.
The collision was reported around 3:45 a.m. on the 5 Freeway just south of the 118 Freeway in Pacoima, leaving one trailer split open and a cab blocking the middle lanes.
Authorities have not said what caused the crash, but it happened shortly after heavy rain began falling in Los Angeles County. It was unclear if anyone was injured.
