Firefighters hoisted a woman to safety Friday after she was stuck in a section of the rain-swollen Tujunga Wash in Arleta.
LAFD crews responded at about 8 a.m. to the rapidly flowing wash, a 13-mile long tributary of the Los Angeles River channel, after a report of a woman in the concrete channel near Branford Street in the San Fernando Valley community. Los Angeles’ system of flood control channels is full of water following two days of rain, including daily rainfall records in some communities.
