A fallen tree crushed a parked car in West Hollywood early Friday morning after heavy overnight rain swept through the area, authorities said.
The incident occurred around 4 a.m. on West Knoll Drive near Melrose Avenue. West Hollywood Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene and woke the vehicle’s owner, whose car had been flattened by the fallen tree.
The owner of the vehicle, who asked for anonymity, said he purchased the car a year ago and is curious to see what his insurance company will say after he provided photos of his totaled vehicle. He said he has lived in West Hollywood for the past three years, and he did not anticipate being woken up this morning by sheriff’s deputies to see his car under a fallen tree. “Luckily no one was hurt,” he said. “It could been worse. It could have destroyed our home.”
City workers spent the morning removing the tree from the damaged vehicle and clearing debris from the roadway. No injuries were reported…
