A 41-year-old woman was arrested by Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies in West Hollywood this week on a felony charge, according to jail records. The charge is described as “corporal injury on a spouse/cohabitant/etc”.
Marlene Esquivel was taken into custody about 3 p.m. Dec. 29 and booked later that afternoon at the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station, records from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Inmate Information Center show. The arrest was handled by deputies assigned to the West Hollywood Station patrol.
Esquivel is currently listed as a West Hollywood Social Justice Advisory Board member who was appointed by incoming Vice Mayor Danny Hang. She was held on $50,000 bail. According to a source familiar with Esquivel, she has resigned from her advisory board position following the incident, but that has not been confirmed as of the posting of this piece.
