California homeowner Ken Johnson has finally managed to evict a basement squatting 500-lb bear with an unusual new tactic.
Kenneth Johnson noticed some property damage in November, so he installed security cameras around the Altadena home to catch the culprit. Johnson got the shock of a lifetime when he discovered a huge 550-pound bear wandering the property and retiring to a den in the basement.
After making the startling find, he reached out to the California Department of Fish and Wildlife for assistance in relocating the animal – but found they couldn’t help. Finally, volunteers from the BEAR League crawled beneath the home to get behind the bear and used paintballs filled with vegetable oil to scare it…
