Building on Thursday night’s STOP ICE TERROR emergency protest, Long Beach residents united with PSL (Party for Socialism and Liberation) Long Beach once again for its National Day of Action protest Saturday at Long Beach City Hall.
The National Day of Action protest focused on protesting the kidnapping of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and ICE’s actions across the United States.
“The truth is that the Trump administration has an approach to its agenda where they’re trying to do as many things as they can at the same time — and that’s intentional,” said Douglas Kauffman, an 18-year organizer with the Party for Socialism and Liberation. “It’s intended to make it difficult for activists and community members to respond to it.”
Before the 2 p.m. protest, two Long Beach police officers approached members of PSL Long Beach and asked them to keep the protest contained to the sidewalk, but the protest filled the streets anyways…
