LA County Rolls Out Free Vending Carts Program; West Hollywood Not Eligible

Los Angeles County has rolled out a new Sidewalk Vending Cart Program that will provide hundreds of California Health Code–compliant food carts at no cost to eligible sidewalk vendors operating in unincorporated areas of the county and within the City of Los Angeles.

The program, administered by the county’s Department of Economic Opportunity, will distribute a minimum of 280 fully compliant vending carts to qualifying stationary and mobile food vendors. The carts are intended to help vendors operate legally, safely and in compliance with state and local health regulations.

Vendors operating in the city of West Hollywood are not eligible for the cart giveaway. While West Hollywood is surrounded by Los Angeles, it is an independent city and does not fall within unincorporated county areas or the City of Los Angeles, which are the only jurisdictions covered by the program.
