Lakewood, CA – A quiet Los Angeles County neighborhood was left reeling Thursday morning after authorities say a father fatally shot his wife and teenage daughter before turning the gun on himself inside their Lakewood home.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were dispatched to a residence in the city of Lakewood shortly before 8 a.m. following a 911 call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon. The caller, later identified as the couple’s 19-year-old daughter, told dispatchers that her father had fired a gun inside the home and was lying unconscious.
When deputies arrived, they encountered the young woman outside the residence. She was unharmed but visibly distressed and was taken in for questioning as investigators secured the scene.
