Hawthorne man accused of sending fake ransom note to Guthrie family appears in Tucson federal court

A Hawthorne man accused of sending a fake ransom note connected to Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping case appeared in a Tucson federal courtroom on Thursday, according to federal investigators.

Derrick Callella’s appearance in Arizona comes a week after he was released on bond following a hearing in a Santa Ana federal courtroom.

The 42-year-old was arrested by the FBI in Hawthorne last week…
