Streets, cars submerged as flash flooding hits Los Angeles County

The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning for central and southern Los Angeles County on Monday as a slow-moving storm system rolled into Southern California, producing heavy rainfall at rates of up to one inch per hour.

Street flooding was reported in Burbank, Hollywood, North Hollywood and Sawtelle, where at least one person had to be rescued from a vehicle, fire officials said.

“This is likely to be another significant weather event … that Angelenos need to take seriously,” said Bass. “I urge all Angelenos – especially those in burn scar areas – to follow official guidance, use caution on the roads, plan ahead, and stay informed.”…
