The 19-year-old accused of fatally stabbing his stepfather inside a Castaic home over the weekend has now been formally charged with murder, according to a felony complaint filed by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
The complaint, filed Wednesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, charges Terrance Blake Crawford, 19, with one count of murder in connection with the death of 62-year-old Bruce Whitney.
According to the filing, Crawford is accused of unlawfully killing Whitney “with malice aforethought” – meaning with a deliberate intent to kill – on Feb. 14 in Los Angeles County, in violation of California Penal Code 187(a).
