Pico Subway Showdown Leaves Driver Shot After Mid City Clash

Gunfire shattered a weeknight at a Mid City Subway sandwich shop on Wednesday, leaving one man wounded after a dispute spilled out from the counter to the curb along Pico Boulevard.

Police say the argument started inside the Subway at Pico and South La Cienega, then followed the victim outside as he tried to drive away. Shots were fired at the vehicle, and the man was hit before he could get clear of the parking lot. He was taken to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition with what authorities described as non-life-threatening injuries.

What police say

Officers responded to the scene Wednesday night and found evidence of gunfire near the storefront, including signs that at least one round struck the victim’s car, according to ABC7 Los Angeles. By the time officers arrived, the shooter was gone.

The Los Angeles Police Department told the station that detectives are canvassing the surrounding blocks for witnesses and surveillance video. No arrests have been reported, and authorities have not released a detailed suspect description.
