A 35-year-old woman from Florida identified as Ivanna Lisette Ortiz is facing charges for allegedly attempting to kill pop superstar Rihanna at her home in the Beverly Crest neighborhood.
Prosecutors allege that on March 8 at approximately 1:20 p.m., Ortiz drove to the musician’s home just outside of Beverly Hills and opened fire toward the residence with a semiautomatic rifle. According to Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman, no one was hurt, but eight people were home at the time, including the singer, her husband – rapper A$AP Rocky – their three children, Rihanna’s mother and two staff people. Hochman said Rihanna and Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Athelston Mayers, were located inside an airstream trailer on the property that was also shot. Additionally, Ortiz allegedly fired at a neighboring residence where two people were present. Hochman said Ortiz fled the scene in her vehicle through Beverly Hills, and was arrested in Sherman Oaks by the Los Angeles Police Department.
“I want everyone to understand in this county that you should absolutely feel safe in your residence, and in your neighborhood and in your community. That safety is something we will work incredibly hard to protect,” Hochman said. “And when an individual comes into our community and decides to shoot it up, that individual will be arrested and held fully accountable for her actions, in this case and in all cases.”…
