The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department announced Friday that approximately $7 million of stolen cargo freight and $1 million in U.S. currency was seized following an investigation into organized crimes and cargo theft.
From December 2025 to February 2026, LASD Major Crimes Bureau Cargo Criminal Apprehension Team detectives served 13 search warrants in Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties, the sheriff said.
Nine suspects were reportedly arrested as a result of the investigation and booked on charges of grand theft cargo, money laundering and receiving stolen property. Their names have not been released by police.
Thirty-six companies were affected by the thefts, the sheriff’s department said, including JB Hunt, Amazon, Sony, LG, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Costco, Wolff Shoes, Monster Energy, and Disney…
