Female victim shot and killed in domestic violence incident in Beverly Grove

A woman was shot and killed in a domestic violence incident at a residence in Beverly Grove on March 22.

Police received 911 calls around 8:25 a.m. about shots fired in the 300 block of South La Peer Drive, just south of Third Street and east of the Beverly Hills border. Officers found the 40-year-old female victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The 30-year-old male suspect remained at the residence and was arrested, Los Angeles Police Department spokesman J. Chavez said. A media report stated a dog was also found dead at the scene. However, Chavez could not confirm the report about the dog.

The suspect’s name was not released and Chavez did not know the relationship between the suspect and victim. The case is under investigation by the LAPD’s West Bureau Homicide Unit.
