Maps reveal new automated enforcement zones along Olympic, La Cienega, and Venice boulevards.

Los Angeles officials will soon begin the rollout of a massive automated speed enforcement program, designating 125 strategic locations across the city for the installation of new speed cameras. This initiative follows the passage of state legislation aimed at curbing a rise in traffic-related fatalities by utilizing technology to monitor high-injury corridors and school zones. The system is designed to issue automatic citations to drivers exceeding posted limits by at least 11 mph. First-time offenders will receive a warning.

The Los Angeles Department of Transit (LADOT) has prioritized these specific stretches of road based on historical collision data and proximity to high-pedestrian areas. Installation of the cameras starts in April and is projected to end in July. There will be a customary 60-day warning period – pilot program and public information campaign will begin in late summer to early fall, after which tickets will be issued.
