A suspect was killed during an exchange of gunfire with deputies following an hourslong standoff in East Los Angeles early Wednesday morning.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies responded to the area of Noakes Street and South Downey Road shortly before 2 a.m. after someone inside a home reportedly called authorities and threatened to hurt themselves.
The individual later barricaded themselves inside the residence, prompting a large law enforcement response that included deputies on the ground and aerial support from a department helicopter.
At one point, multiple gunshots were heard on video, though it was not immediately clear whether the gunfire came from the suspect, law enforcement, or both…
