Body Found Near Broadway & 41st Sparks South LA Homicide Probe

A late-night 911 call turned deadly in South Los Angeles on Sunday, after a man was found unresponsive in an alley near Broadway and West 41st Street in the Historic South-Central neighborhood. First responders arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene, and Los Angeles police quickly opened a homicide investigation.

According to FOX 11, someone dialed 911 at 11:56 p.m. to report an unconscious man in the alley near the intersection. A witness, speaking to the station off camera, said they heard a gunshot around midnight. Police have not released the victim’s name or any description of a possible suspect.

String Of Death Investigations In South LA

This latest case lands on top of an already grim month for South Los Angeles. Earlier in March, a body was discovered on Metro tracks, as reported by NBC Los Angeles. Just days later, a man was found shot to death in the Hyde Park area on March 17, according to MyNewsLA.

None of the incidents have been publicly connected, but together they paint a tense picture for residents already familiar with sirens and crime scene tape.
