On March 30, 2026, Superior Court Judge George G. Lomeli denied a petition from Pearl Fernandez that sought to overturn or reduce her life sentence for the 2013 torture and murder of her son.
The ruling keeps the 40-year-old Palmdale woman behind bars for the rest of her life without the possibility of parole.
