Two Los Angeles County residents are pleading not guilty to felonies for alleged scams involving an elderly man in Ventura, according to authorities.
On March 18, a local elderly male resident allegedly received a phone text message asking him to confirm a $350 purchase from an online retailer, according to a Ventura County District Attorney’s Office news release.
The text message to the man included a phone number prompting the resident to call “immediately” and when he did the person who answered said the man’s local credit union accounts were linked to “supposed child sexual abuse content based in Canada,” the release says…
