The homeless man accused of the horrific random stabbing of a woman on a DTLA street is already on release on parole

A man accused of carrying out a random and brutal stabbing in Downtown Los Angeles was already on parole for a previous killing, according to authorities.

Kenneth Gibson, 39, has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder in the attack on Riffat Sultana Kazmi, a 70-year-old woman who remains in critical condition.

Sudden, Unprovoked Attack

Police say the assault happened near Grand Hope Park on Hope Street around 10:15 a.m.
