Law enforcement officers descended on a Torrance, California home in armored vehicles after arresting a suspect shooter at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on Saturday night. The US Secret Service confirmed that nobody was injured in the “shooting incident”, and that one person had been taken into custody as a result of the incident.
The suspect is reported to be Cole Tomas Allen, 31, of Torrance, California. According to Washington DC’s interim police chief, Jeffrey Carroll, Allen was a hotel guest at the Hilton where the event was taking place.
Carroll said the suspect was “armed with a shotgun, a handgun, and multiple knives”, while US attorney for Washington Jeanine Pirro said Allen is facing two counts for using firearms during crime of violence and assault on federal officers using a dangerous weapon…
