SANTA MONICA – The council moved Tuesday to keep its homelessness emergency declaration in place, even after next door Mayor Karen Bass ended L.A.’s emergency order last year and said permanent tools were in place to continue the response.
The Santa Monica City Council on Tuesday considered re-ratifying the city’s local emergency on homelessness, continuing a declaration city officials say is needed to move quickly on services, housing programs, and outside funding.
