The history of food trucks dates all the way back to the 19th century and the advent of chuck wagons, but their modern incarnation has only been a red-hot ticket item in the last 20 years. Maybe not even that long.
I would say they come under the much larger umbrella of “street food,” if we’re categorizing, and if you’re a lover of that kind of casual cuisine, I might just know where you’ll be on July 25th and 26th. Does the phrase “street food festival” make you smile? Well, I’m still smiling and hoping I can be there. Louisville is an amazing and, perhaps, underrated foodie city, and if it gets a chance to show off, we need to be there.
Louisville Street Food Festival
During Fourth Street Live, more than 20 vendors will be on hand, peddling some of Louisville’s finest street cuisine from its best food trucks and restaurants. And get this…all food items at the Louisville Street Food Festival will be priced at $5 or less, with a voucher. Also, it will be cash-only at the food stations. But voucher or no voucher, those are “shove people out of the way” prices. (Don’t really do that, but you know what I mean.)
