LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Thousands of people across the Louisville area are expected to attend Fourth of July celebrations this weekend as intense heat and humidity continue to grip the region. Some event teams have already canceled their plans this week, while others have made safety adjustments.
Waterfront Park prepares for country’s 250th birthday
Crews at Waterfront Park were making final preparations Friday ahead of Saturday’s celebration. Deborah Bilitski, Waterfront Park’s executive director, said organizers are expecting a large turnout for the country’s 250th birthday.
“We have an even grander celebration plan than we have in previous years,” Bilitski said.
