Louisville marks America’s 250th with Metro Hall celebration

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville joined communities across the country this weekend for the “Oh Say Can You See” celebration, marking America’s 250th birthday with performances, Revolutionary War reenactments and reflections on the city’s place in U.S. history.

The celebration included members of the cast of “Hamilton,” who performed on the steps of Metro Hall during the show’s Louisville run.

“When I started my career, I was an eighth grade American history teacher, and Hamilton was like brand new back then. So it made teaching the revolution and the new nation super easy because the kids loved it,” said Ben Gies, of the Louisville America 250 committee…
