Federal judge sentences 2 men in Louisville meth trafficking conspiracy

KENTUCKY, USA — Two Kentucky men have been sentenced to federal prison for their roles in a methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy that also involved illegal firearms possession.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Kentucky, 36-year-old Shawn Beason of Louisville was sentenced Thursday to 18 years in prison followed by 10 years of supervised release. Justin Cummins, 29, of Berea, was sentenced to seven years in prison followed by five years of supervised release.

Federal prosecutors said the investigation began in April 2024 when investigators conducting surveillance watched Cummins briefly enter Beason’s vehicle in a Louisville Lowe’s parking lot on Preston Crossings Boulevard…
