LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A Highlands bar at the center of controversy is expected to reopen under new safety requirements set by Metro leaders.
Atomic, located on Bardstown Road, says it plans to resume operations after reaching an agreement with the city. The terms include hiring more off-duty police officers, allowing Louisville Metro Police to access the bar’s security cameras in real time, and closing earlier at 3:30 a.m.
The changes follow the Metro Alcoholic Beverage Control Board’s decision to suspend Atomic’s liquor license last month after a fight and a shooting. Metro ABC said the bar did not properly de-escalate the fight, which it says led to the shooting outside the business…
