Louisville women’s volleyball swept the ninth-ranked Texas Longhorns Sunday, Sept. 6 in Nashville, Tennessee at Bridgestone Arena’s Broadway Block Party.
Striking early
Several Texas errors eventually led to a Louisville breakaway, causing the Longhorns to call a timeout at 13-7.
The deficit became seemingly insurmountable for the Longhorns when Louisville’s Kalyssa Blackshear followed a Payton Petersen ace with a kill of her own that caused the Longhorns to call yet another timeout at 21-9.
Louisville continued to dominate the rest of the set, eventually winning 25-12 on a Texas service error.
