Fatal Crash Closes All Lanes of I-65 South in Bullitt County for Nearly Four Hours After at Least Two Vehicles Collided Near Mile Marker 114.8

BULLITT COUNTY, KY — A fatal wreck shut down all southbound lanes of Interstate 65 in Bullitt County on Wednesday evening, forcing drivers onto a long wait while emergency crews responded near mile marker 114.8.

TRIMARC said the crash happened just before 4:22 p.m. and involved at least two vehicles. The shutdown lasted for several hours before southbound traffic reopened around 8 p.m.

Shepherdsville Police Chief Steve Schmidt confirmed the crash was deadly, but authorities have not said how many people were killed.
