LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Major bridge work is underway in downtown Louisville as part of the I-65 Central Corridor Project, and advocates said new bridge designs could further displace people experiencing homelessness.
The project includes replacing an additional six interstate bridges. According to Kentucky Transportation Cabinet designs, open areas under the bridges will be eliminated, including spaces where some members of the homeless community currently find shelter.
