The Cards are moving on up in the AP Poll after the 41-31 win over SMU Saturday afternoon. Prior to the game, the Cards were 23rd and Mustangs 17th. Louisville checks in at 16 today, making the second biggest jump of the week climbing seven spots. Mississippi State rose eight spots after their win against South Carolina.
Coming into Saturday’s matchup, Louisville was 0-4 all time vs SMU and never held a lead in those matchups. Thanks to a balanced offensive attack from The Ville, they finally have that first win. Jeff Brohm also provided Louisville’s first win over Clemson in 2024, when they beat the 11th ranked Tigers in Death Valley. Louisville was 0-8 previously.
