LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB+WAVE) — The family of a 21-year-old man who died at Louisville’s jail earlier this year said his death was “entirely preventable,” claiming the jail didn’t take care of him as he battled mental illness.
Juan Miguel Muñoz Penalver died Feb. 26 while in custody at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections, just 12 days after he was booked into the jail.
Now, his stepmother is demanding justice, accountability and the truth.
