John Amato and William Grieshaber have warrants out for their arrests on charges of second-degree animal cruelty . The Louisville Metro Police Department received a call last summer for a complaint of a handful of canines being mistreated.
When officers arrived at the scene, they were horrified to find the pups covered in feces and urine. The apartment’s floors and beds were also covered in animal excrement, and parts of the drywall were missing as the dogs had resorted to eating it due to extreme hunger and emaciation.
The agency described the scene as the worst case of animal cruelty that they had seen.
“Upon arriving at the house, the distinct odor of feces and urine was so powerful, we could smell it from the street,” police said in a Facebook post .
