Girl Scout cookies can vary from state to state, or even county to county within the same state. That’s because they are made by two different bakeries. Cookie sales are organized by 112 regional Girl Scout councils that select one of two national bakeries to bake their cookies
Some of the cookies from both bakeries have the same name, but they taste slightly different because the two bakeries do not use the same recipe or the same ingredients. Also, they do not have the same shape and size.
The Girl Scout cookies you enjoyed last year might taste different if you’ve moved since the last time you ate them. That’s because they were made and distributed by two different bakeries.
Girls Scout cookies have different names depending on the bakery where they are made. However, the Thin Mint is baked by both bakeries.
A Girl Scouts of the USA spokesperson told Business Insider:
“Since the cookies are coming from two different bakeries, the taste and appearance will naturally vary due to slight differences in the recipe and ingredients available to the bakers.”
