Kentucky Voter Guide: Key Races

All eyes will likely be on the presidential race come Nov. 5.

But plenty of candidates are also up for federal, state and local seats in the 2024 General Election — including in what could be the last partisan elections for Louisville’s mayor and Metro Council.

Ahead of the vote, Courier Journal reporters put together a guide on all the candidates running for key seats in Louisville, as well as each of Kentucky’s congressional districts.

We’ve also included info on two proposed constitutional amendments .

We did not include candidates who are running uncontested, including those in seven state representative races , three state senate races, six Metro Council races and one Jefferson County school board race .

U.S. House

Four congressional incumbents face opposition in the upcoming election: Republicans James Comer, Brett Guthrie and Andy Barr, as well as Democrat Morgan McGarvey.

Two other incumbents — Republicans Thomas Massie and Hal Rogers — are running unopposed.
