The Latin Music Awards Kentucky are in their sixth edition. What to know about them

The Latin Music Awards Kentucky are celebrating their sixth edition on Saturday. Here’s wht the event in the Hispanic music scene is about.

This year’s award show is starting with a red carpet, followed by the award ceremony and a concert by Frankie Ruiz Jr. with the Mileno Salsa Band at 10 p.m.

“The awards ceremony will be an excellent opportunity to build bridges and promote understanding among different ethnicities and cultures in Kentucky,” according to the website. “Whether you’re a music enthusiast, an artist, or someone who loves to dance, the event promises to be an unforgettable experience.”

The award show has given 30 partial scholarships since 2019 to students in institutions around the city, including Bellarmine University and the University of Louisville. This year, 12 Latino students will receive partial scholarships, according to the Latin Music Awards Kentucky website.

“We eagerly anticipate providing 12 partial scholarships to Hispanic students currently enrolled or planning to enroll at the University of Louisville, School of Music, Bellarmine University, and Jefferson Community College,” the President of the Latin Music Awards Kentucky Israel Cuenca said. “Furthermore, we remain committed to supporting local Hispanic non-profit organizations in the area, including La Casita Center and Adelante Hispanic Achievers.”
