Another round of cold on the way

We’ve had plenty of snow and plenty of cold, but it doesn’t look like we’re done with either just yet. The next round of cold air is rolling in as a cold front swings by tonight.

Tonight’s cold front is fairly starved of moisture, so only a few sprinkles and flurries are expected. Accumulations will be minimal at best. But it will slash our high temperatures quite a bit. Sunday’s highs topped out in the middle 40s in quite a few spots. Monday – Thursday will be much colder with highs 10 – 20 degrees below average. And don’t be fooled by Monday’s high temperature in the low 30s because it will likely happen just after midnight tonight. The afternoon will likely be spent in the 20s.

Temperature some morning will be down in the single digits with Tuesday and Wednesday morning having the best chance for that. The European model is running a little colder than what is expected in Louisville on Tuesday (as shown below), but many places outside of Louisville could drop down to around 5 degrees. Wednesday will be the most likely day for sub-zero temperatures if we do get them.
