With freshman standout Dani Carnegie out of action against the Louisville Cardinals today, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets women’s basketball team already had an uphill battle to climb in their game today, and that hill proved to be too much for the team to overcome, as they lost their second consecutive game after starting the season 15-0, in a 69-60 defeat that the hands of the Cardinals.
Fortner put together a surprise starting lineup for the game, with two players, sophomore guard Arianda Termis and junior guard Ines Noguero making their first starts of the season. Noguero led the team with six rebounds, while Termis finished second on the team in assists, with three. However, the two guards combined to shoot 3-7, including 1-4 from beyond the arc, combining for just seven points in the contest. The duo also combined for five turnovers for the Yellow Jackets.
While it was expected that Carnegie would be out with a hamstring injury, it just seemed like Fortner put together a lineup to just show up for the game and that was it. They set season lows for both points (60) and rebounds (24)…
