Lawsuit against JCPS busing plan dismissed by federal judge

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – The lawsuit filed by the parents of four JCPS students in response to the district’s busing plan has been dismissed.

The lawsuit was filed in June after the district decided to end busing to magnet and traditional schools. The plaintiffs in the suit claimed that ending busing to those schools violated students’ civil rights.

The suit also claimed that cutting busing to magnet and traditional schools hurt African American students, saying that 14,000 African American students would be denied their previously provided school bus…
