LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A complaint filed to Louisville’s Office of Inspector General in 2023 prompted an investigation into the shooting death of 25-year-old Omari Cryer in 2022.
On May 20, 2022, investigators said the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) was assisting the United States Marshals around 9 a.m. in the 800 block of Sutcliffe Avenue. In a statement released to the public, LMPD said the U.S. Marshals were attempting to serve an arrest warrant for domestic violence, strangulation and assault.
