Volunteers remove 11,000 wreaths from veterans’ graves at Louisville’s Zachary Taylor Cemetery

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Several volunteers Saturday wrapped up a holiday tradition at one of the most well-known cemeteries in the Louisville area.

Saturday was the annual clean up of the wreaths at Zachary Taylor National Cemetery. Just before Christmas, a wreath was at the base of all 11,000 graves.

It was the first time every veterans’ grave received a wreath for the holidays. Saturday, volunteers brushed off snow and removed the wreaths and gathered them in one big pile…
